| Jose Maria Alviso Adobe, Milpitas, CA
The City plans to restore the 1853 residence to its original character – a dignified farmhouse once surrounded by vineyards and later, apricot orchards. The roof was restored in 1998 and the Sanchez firm prepared drawings to guide the restoration, retrofit and Master Plan for a future historic park. |

La Casa Amesti, Monterey, CA An outstanding example of Spanish Colonial style in downtown Monterey, the beautiful Casa Amesti needed seismic strengthening and a facelift. The Sanchez firm provided architectural drawings and hands-on restoration of historic adobe and stone walls. |
| Peralta Adobe, Oldest Building in San Jose, CA
Although Sergeant Luis Peralta was one of the largest landholders in Spanish and Mexican California, he lived in this modest adobe home, the only dwelling remaining from the Pueblo de San Jose. The Sanchez firm has guided the restoration, retrofit and repair over the years. You can visit the Peralta home while visiting the Fallon House in downtown San Jose. |

Mission San Jose Reconstruction, Fremont, CA This is a reconstruction based on archeological and historical research of the 1809 church which was later destroyed by earthquake. The Oakland Diocese retained Sanchez to prepare drawings and oversee construction of the recreated mission church, a project which was awarded numerous awards. |
| Juan Avila Adobe Adaptive Reuse, CA
In downtown San Juan Capistrano, the 1840s adobe now houses a dining room for the restaurant behind it. As part of downtown redevelopment projects, it was restored to its former appearance as a residence of an old San Juan Capistrano family. Sanchez assisted with adobe brick making and plastering after preparing the project’s construction drawings. |

Mission Santa Cruz Restoration, Santa Cruz Mission State Historic Park, CA The oldest building in Santa Cruz was restored in 1990 by California State Parks and is open to the public Wednesdays thru Sundays. The Sanchez firm prepared construction documents from archeological and historical information to restore the 1824 building which housed Indian families. Willow branches bound with rawhide and clay tiles modeled on archeological evidence, in addition to a great deal of original historic fabric, remain within the seven room building. |
| Sunol House and Roberto Adobe, San Jose, CA
Restoration and structural strengthening was done in 1975. The one room original adobe is circa 1700’s. In the 1840’s a two story red brick residence was added. It is now being used as attorney’s offices. Client: The John Bruzzone Family. |

Galindo Higuera Adobe, Fremont, CA Restoration and structural strengthening was done in 1978. It was originally an adobe ranch house and stage coach station which included an interior stable attached to the living quarters. Client: City of Fremont. |
| Plaza Hotel Restoration, SJB State Historic Park, San Juan Bautista, CA
Design and construction documents for a restoration of an 1800’s adobe wood frame building, and two story out house now open by the California State Park and Recreation as a public a museum. The original adobe was part of mission San Juan Bautista Mission complex. The hotel was restored to the target period of 1865 and opened to the public in 1980. |

Brown Underwood Adobe and City Hall, Monterey, CA 2001We developed a Historic Structure Report for the 1840s adobe and Preservation Program for the 1930s City Hall. The complete City Hall historic roofing was carefully removed, and new underlayment installed. Where the historic tile was damaged and could not be re-installed, new clay roofing was manufactured matching the historic tile. The historic tiles were carfully cleaned, and all tiles were treated with a water repellent before reinstalling. |
| Petaluma Adobe, Petaluma, CA
The Sanchez firm studied and assessed the large adobe at Petaluma State Historic Park and provided recommendations for its ongoing preservation. With the help of a volunteer support group and State Parks personnel, Sanchez has completed repair of all the exterior walls and finished light plastering of the east wall. |
